God Bless America~Illustrated by Peter Francis~A ZonderKidz Review

                            9780310753476.jpg
God Bless America, illustrated by Peter Francis, is a board book that talks about America!  It is made of chunky, study cardboard great for little hands.  The colorful illustrations will keep anyone intrigued as they are reading this book.  As you read thru the rhyming words you  discover with in these pages a few of the things that make our country so great, as Henry (the little bear) discovers our great country.
“Next to South Dakota, to see four famous men-
One good with a sword, one good with a pen.
The third from the left is young Theodore,
And last is Abe Lincoln, who led us through war.”

This series is a great way to introduce some of the amazing history within our country.  It ends with a prayer of thankfulness for the wonderful state that God created for us.  I recommend this series to anyone with little ones either for pure enjoyment or to supplement your curriculum

About the author:  Peter Francis lives and works in the U.K.  When he’s not following Henry’s travels, he can be found sketching frantically in his studio, investigating hidden landscapes, or growing his own vegetables.

Be sure to check out this book and the other titles in the series:  God Bless Texas and God Bless Florida here!
