The SUPER HEROES BIBLE in 3D, NIV

9780310745983                                             The Super Heroes Bible in 3D, NIV by Jean E Syswerda and illustrated by Dennis Jones is a great addition to any household.   I have to say when I found out I had the opportunity to review this Bible, I immediately thought of my youngest son.  He is really into super heroes!  I wondered if it would live up to my expectations and how it would portray the super heroes.  Would this be something that my son (or any child) could easily follow and see how God worked in the lives of ordinary people?

I was provided a copy of The SUPER HEROES BIBLE in 3D from Zondervan in exchange for an honest review.

This Bible has met my expectations!  It is filled with just that!  It emphasizes on the ordinary people that God has used as super heroes by following him!  This full text colorful bible will easily draw your little one in.  It even comes with the 3D glasses attached to the inside front cover!  These glasses can be used on the 30 plus 3-D pages that amplify the special powers that were given because the characters followed God’s words.  I feel that this Bible clearly shows children how they can be God’s super heroes.
This Bible is like no other with the following features:
Super Hero Decoder:  Will point out the traits of a hero
Profiles:  There are over 200 of these!  Yep you read that correct, OVER 200!  You can take your super hero decoder to find out what each character’s traits are.  Since everyone in the Bible isn’t always a good guy there is even included a few bad guys, like Pharaoh!  These people have a code of dishonor!
Power Surges:  Where all super heroes get their powers from, right?  This Bible didn’t skip in this category either!  These Power Surges are where you can look at specific bible verse that will highlight a code of honor.
Who am I Bible quiz:  At the end of the Bible is a quiz that goes thru the characters and quizzes on the characters by this quiz.
Dictionary:  self explanatory ..section to help  with words that are not easily understood
Great color pictures:  Best selling artist, Dennis Jones painted the action packed pictures of the heroes.
                   And more!
This Bible is a great bible for any budding super hero!  Why not be a super hero for God!

Young Women of Faith Bible, NIV

Zondervan provided me with a free copy of this book for reviewing purposes.
Young Women of Faith Bible
Looking for a bible for a young lady in your life?  The Young Women of Faith Bible may be the one you want!
This Young Women of Faith Bible, NIV by Susie Shellenberger is a hardback study bible with a catchy, colorful cover that isn't too babyish or grown up.  The NIV translation is easy to read and understand as it It draws your young lady into God’s word.  The design on the cover is carried thru out the bible with the pink accents thru out .  Aimed at the tween audience I feel that it  is very appropriate for girls between 8 and 13.  It is the bible that is “just like yours!”.
This bible features 52 full page bible studies that is linked to the NIV Women of Faith Study Bible so you can study God’s word TOGETHER!  Some of the other great things that sets this bible apart from others are:  Bookmark side notes, Journal space, "I believe statements" and "If I were there" stories.
*The bible side notes offer explanations or historical side notes to the scripture passage that you are reading.  A great tool for understand some of the bible stories.
*The journal boxes leaves space for you to take notes as you read, jot down prayer reminders or noting something interesting from the passages on the page.  I do wish there was a bit more space for the journal writing.  The boxes do have details in them that takes away from the journal writing.  These are often great points for reflection, however they limit the writing space. This is just my opinion and could very easily be corrected with a bible journal notebook to go along.
*Your “I believe statements” are statements of faith and foundation beliefs.                                                    *Your "If I were there”s give you stories that apply what was going on in real time.  For example, when they were talking about no one listening in Judges 17:6 the "If I were there" highlights how maybe the girls in your class are not listening and may be using language that isn’t appropriate.  What do you think you should do and what does God want you to do in this situation.  This provides reflection time on our thoughts and actions, putting into perspective what we may face in our world.
Each bible has a presentation page with a place for you to put your child’s name, date and who the bible is from.  The second page highlights your child’s Christian journey with the day they became a Christian, the influential people on their Christian journey, special bible verses that helped.  This could be given as a baptism, First Communion or even a milestone birthday!
Each book then opens with a page about that particular book.  It lists the author, when and why it was written, what we learned about God within this book, what is special about this book, and finally what some of the stories are in the book.
This bible is laid out to encourage the reader to want to start reading and studying God’s word.  I think that it does a great job!  I also think that linking it with the Women of Faith Study Bible and allowing you to study this with your child is a really great idea!  You don't have to study it with your child, however it give you the opportunity to if you would like.   It gives both of you some special time together studying God’s word and walking together on your spiritual journeys.
You can check out the book at Zondervan here.
I was provided this book  free in exchange for my honest opinion.  My opinion does not guarantee a positive review. No other compensation was received.
