Emergen C Immune +~A Smiley360 Review

20160216_130150      I am a vitamin/mineral taker.  I believe that vitamins help your body, by no means do they heal, but I believe that they help our bodies fight the every day bugs to keep the yuckies at bay.  Even though my family eats pretty balanced meals every day, we all still take a multivitamin/mineral.  I don’t think it can hurt.  Vitamin C, specifically is also a big one in our house, especially in the winter.  We do not get flu shots and do not miss out on a lot of things because of sickness. We also wash our hands before we eat and every time we come in the house.  With the practices, overall, we are healthy!
So, when I received the chance to review these Emergen-C Chewable dietary supplement,  I was excited!  Chewable supplements make it super easy to take anywhere.  When you open the container you are hit with the Orange Burst flavor!  The chewables are larger than I expected, but don’t worry, their flavor is one of the best tasting supplements I have tried!  This particular supplement has a dosing 20160216_130220of 2 a day.  Perfect for us as I like to split up our supplements and take with different meals so we are not taking a lot at one time.  I think this helps to keep a steady flow in your system.
Emergen-C Immune + is a dietary supplement that helps to support your immune system (or your yuckies fighters).  The "plus" in this formula is there because they have added 600 IU of Vitamin D which will help keep your bones strong as it  helps your body absorb calcium.  It also has twice as much vitamin C as well as other key antioxidants.  I think of vitamin and mineral supplements as the extra “shields” and “assistants”  in keeping our body strong and healthy.  Why not have ones that have a lot of flavor and are so easy to take at home or on the go?

Facts about these chewables:
⚫ Contrary to popular belief, Emergen-C® does not in any way help prevent, treat or cure colds, flu or any other illnesses. Please don't mention anything related to cold or flu season when you share!
⚫ Emergen-C® does not "boost" or "enhance" your immune system, but it will help provide support for your immune system. Support is the key word!
⚫ Emergen-C® does not give you energy. Stick to coffee for your energy needs :)
⚫ Emergen-C® Chewables are suitable for people aged 14 and over... so have fun sharing!

The Sorcery Code by Dima Zales~A Thomoson Review (Kindle Edition)

I received a free copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
I love reading for the main purpose that it can take you so many places and you can learn so many things.  As a child I never really appreciated it.  I actually hated it and dreaded it every time I was asked to do it.  As an adult I really enjoy it and reading different genres.  So when I saw the opportunity to read The Sorcery Code, I thought this would be something that may be fun.  It isn’t the usual type of book that I would read, and it was an E-book with Kindle, which I am slowly learning to use and LOVE!
The book is written in a magical physical realm where sorcerers, soldiers and commoners all live together.  There are ranks through out the land and they don't mingle well.  There are 4 main characters:  Blaise, Gala, Augusta and Baron.  Each chapter takes on a different main character as the main idea of that chapter, rotating thru each of the main characters.  The chapter name is person’s name so you know who the topic of the chapter is.
Meet the characters:
Blaise is a very powerful sorcerer outcast who was shunned when he didn’t agree with the counsel.  He is trying to find a way to make magic accessible to everyone in the land, including the peasants.  In creating an object to make this feasible, he creates Gala.
Gala.  She is a women figure (that Blaise created for his task of making magic accessible to everyone)  he finds so beautiful he names her after his mom Galena (Gala for short).
Augusta was the FiancĂ©e of Blaise but they called it off a few years ago.  She is a sorceress who is now involved with Barson.
Barson, other than Augusta’s lover is a high ranking military leader.  He doesn’t have any magical powers, however he is an amazing fighter.
This book is easy to read but a bit hard to follow.  With the chapters jumping between characters I felt that I didn’t get enough out of each chapter.  At one point I felt as if I was reading the second book and missed the first, event though I felt this book does introduce you to the characters as a first book would.  It is filled with magic and action.  This book wasn’t what I would typically jump to read.  I thought it was a good book, but not a great book.  Listed as a Fantasy book of Magic, Romance, Danger and Intrigue I would have to say for me it fell short on intrigue park. I would recommend it to someone who likes this genre, however not as an introduction to the genre.

Glimmer Girls~A Dolphin Wish by Natalie Grant~A Zonderkidz Review

9780310752530, A Dolphin Wish, Natalie Grant A Dolphin Wish by Natalie Grant is the second book in the Glimmer Girls series.  Recommended for ages 8-12 your little young lady can once again follow with the sister trio~Twins Mia and Maddie and their little sister LuLu.  This time the family is traveling a little closer than London landing in California at the adventure park.
The girls are haveing a great time, when they realize that there is a problem.  Now they have their own little mystery to solve.  Who will be the first to figure out this one?  Mia felt the pressure she put on herself,  since Maddie solved the one in London.  Jeolousy sets in as she feels inferior to her twin sister and she even starts to have unkind thought about her sister.

Glimmer Girls~London Art Chase by Natalie Grant~A Zonderkidz Review

9780310752653, A London Art Chase, Natalie Grant     Written by Natalie Grant this book is the first in the Glimmer Girlz series.  London Art Chase takes place in London.  It is about a family and the nanny traveling to London for the mom’s concert.   They get to stay in a fancy hotel, like princesses and travel around the city with their father, mother and mostly the nanny.  The author uses real sites in London to explain abit of history to the girls.  I had to laugh a little to my self when the girls see a red telephone booth.  They question what it is and why they would have telephone booths when people carry phones in their pockets.  This is a conversation we have had in my household!  Julia, the nanny, looks up the history of the phone book and explains or educates the girls that they used to be included with the post office.  There was a competition to see what color and red one!  Julia also looked up things like the money exchange or Big Ben and taught the girls the history behind the city.
The book is wrapped up with alot of history and sibling rivalry.  I love how the authors portrays the girls with the normal every day issues that we have in our lives between siblings.  At one point when the girls are having tea comments are made and it is evident that an argument will break out, so the topic is changed.  Something that happens in many families, includind mine many times.  This book relies heavily on prayer and asking for God’s help.  In the beginning, for example, when the girls get to London and are getting their baggage at the airport the youngest (LuLu’s) bag of toys hasn’t come down the baggage claim.  Dad says that we should pray about it, to which the girls question praying for things like that.  The dad explains that God wants to hear everying that is good and bad in our lives.  So they pray that the suitcase finds their hotel soon.
When the girls (older twins, Mia and Maddie) and younger sister (LuLu) are at the art musem, Maddie things that she sees a theft.  The story goes on the adventure of the girls seeking out the theif, if it really was a theft.
This a cute, fun Christian book that would be a great read for the 8-12 year old girl in your life.

The Princess Parables~A Royal Easter Story by Jeanna Young

   9780310748700

Just for your little princess’ Easter Basket is this book from ZonderKids about the Easter Story.  The hardcover book, written for 4-8 year olds, follows the five Princesses~ Faith, Hope, Charity, Joy and Grace~on their traditional Easter pilgrimage to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord.  The story details their preparation and travels to the celebration.  They are challenged to a race and are faced with the decision of helping a lost child and loosing the race.  Do they do the right thing and help the lost child or win the race to prove they were right?  What a cute little story reminding us that winning in our lives doesn’t always mean that we win the physical races on earth.
The last page of the book has Parable Thoughts:  this page explains to us that to be the ultimate good princess we must loose ourselves serving others first.  Just what we are called to do.  It is based on Luke 11:9-13 (NIrV).  It explains how Jesus performed the ultimate service to us by accepting his fate on the cross.  It reinforces that Jesus is there for us all the time, all we have to do is ask.
A great book for that special princess in your life!
